JOE UFO

Joe UFO looks almost human - almost. His species evolved with an extraordinary ability to adapt to whatever environment it finds itself in. His eyes can adjust to darkness, his metabolism can compensate for extreme temperatures, his body can become more resistant to toxins and low oxygen, and even his skin colour can change in response to his surroundings - or, rather inconveniently, his mood. He can alter smaller biological details too, including his fingerprints and retinas, making supposedly secure biometric locks considerably less secure whenever Joe is around.

His adaptive biology can even change his sex when necessary, although Joe is not a true shapeshifter. He can't become other people, dramatically change his size or mass, or simply grow whatever superpower the situation requires. Slender, athletic and naturally difficult to faze, Joe tends to meet even the strangest situations with deadpan calm - perhaps because, as an alien attending a school full of vampires, psychics, demigods and sorcerers, his definition of strange is rather different from everyone else's. Just don't ask how old he is. You probably won't believe the answer anyway.
